Call for proposals
The Small Business Champions Initiative
The World Trade Organization (WTO) and the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) have recently launched the Small Business Champions Initiative which aims at facilitating the participation of small businesses in international trade.
The initiative will provide a platform for companies and private sector organizations around the world to propose innovative, practical ideas designed to encourage micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) to do business across borders.
The WTO and the ICC are looking for proposals aiming at raising awareness among MSMEs of the opportunities that trade can provide, and how they can seize those opportunities. Proposals can include awareness-raising campaigns, competitions, capacity buildings, training or mentoring programmes.
The initiative does not foresee financial contributions, the WTO and ICC will support the implementation of the selected proposals, for example, by helping to promote initiatives and host events or provide expertise and institutional support. In addition successful proposals will be recognized as ‘ICC-WTO Small Business Champions’.
